2020 CASE Workshop
March 29 - April 1, 2020

Application Deadline: January 24, 2020 
The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) is offering a program titled Catalyzing Advocacy for Science and Engineering (CASE). CASE is an entry-level program organized to educate graduate students who are interested in learning about the role of science in policy-making and the federal policy-making process and to empower them with ways to become a voice for basic research throughout their careers. 
 
To be eligible to participate in the CASE Workshop, students must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate (upper-class) or graduate degree program (including double majors) in one of the following fields:
Biological, physical, or earth sciences
Computational sciences and mathematics
Engineering disciplines
Medical and health sciences
Social and behavioral sciences
The U of MN has the opportunity to nominate up to four students to attend. The University is responsible for paying the $250 registration fee and all associated travel and lodging expenses. Applicants must complete this form and submit a one-page resume and brief statement of interest (500 words max).

The School of Kinesiology is proud to announce the availability of our 2020-21 academic year scholarships. Graduate opportunities are listed below. Deadline to apply is March 1, 2020. Visit the School's website for detailed descriptions, eligibility, application criteria, selection process, and an application for the scholarships.

  • School of Kinesiology Scholarship [3583]Eligibility: Outstanding undergraduate or graduate students in the School of Kinesiology. 
    Award range: $250-750 (1-3 awards)
     
  • Roger W. and Ann T. Drinkwalter Fellowship for Nutrition Research [21752]
    Eligibility: Graduate students enrolled in CEHD who have a focus on nutrition research and are planning to pursue careers that focus on nutrition in a variety of contexts.
    Award range: $750-1,200 (1-2 awards)
     
  • Dorothy McNeill Tucker Fellowship Fund [6388]
    Eligibility: Graduate students working with the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sports. 
    Award range: $1,000-3,000 (1-2 awards)
     
  • Edith Mueller Endowed Fund for Graduate Education in the Tucker Center [5216]
    Eligibility: Graduate students, to support the following: including but not limited to graduate assistantships, research support, travel to conferences, and equipment.
    Award range: $1,000-5,000 (1-3 awards) 
     
  • Eloise M. Jaeger Scholarship at the Tucker Center [4449]
    Eligibility: Undergraduate or graduate students working on education in an area related to the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport, particularly on girls and women in sport and physical activity.
    Award range: $1,000-5,000 (1-3 awards)


Tucker Center Gender Equity in Sport Graduate Fellowship [8644]
Full-time graduate students in good standing enrolled in the School of Kinesiology who are affiliated with the Tucker Center and who are engaged in critically-needed research in areas that address gender equity in sport and physical activity.
Award range: $1,000-5,000 (1-2 awards)

2020-2021 Hauge Fellowship
Application deadline is February 1, 2020

The School of Kinesiology announces the availability of limited funding (a total funding amount of $1,750) to support Doctoral, Ms and Ma students in the School of Kinesiology for professional development (e.g. participation in a grant writing workshop or a pre-conference graduate student seminar) and/or present a paper at a scholarly meeting.
