Join us in Celebrating our Graduate and Professional Students!

Tune in for a special thank you from the School of Kinesiology Director Beth LewisThis week is Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week, and the School of Kinesiology couldn’t be more thankful for YOU! Our graduate and professional students contribute to the success of the School every day, and we can’t wait to see how your future work will transform the research and discovery in your fields!

We want to give a special #KinKudos mention to all of our hard working Graduate Assistants, who have tackled the challenge of online instruction with creativity, vigor, and a positive attitude. Thank you for your dedication to helping the School of Kinesiology best serve all of its students.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Summer Courses - President Gabel's Message

The University has decided that all upcoming summer term classes across the University system will be conducted through alternative instruction. Each campus will communicate with students and faculty this week about its specific summer plans for 2020, so keep an eye out for those messages. You will have all of the information you need in the very near future to make your summer academic plans. See President Gabel’s email announcing this decision here.

If you have concerns or questions regarding summer courses you are instructing, please contact Brandi Hoffman, DUGS, for all undergraduate level courses and Zan Gao, DGS, for all graduate level courses.

Summer and Fall Course Registration

Summer course registration is underway, and fall registration opens on April 9, 2020.

If you have questions about your degree progress, course requirements and/ or course selectionschedule an appointment for a virtual meeting with School of Kinesiology Graduate Coordinator Nina Wang.

FINANCIAL AID

Emergency Fund for Graduate and Professional Students

The Graduate School and Provost’s Office, in partnership with many colleges and departments, have created an emergency fund for graduate and professional students. The types of things students may need help with include, but are not limited to: assistance with food/rent, temporary housing, space to self-quarantine, loss of job/income, and technology equipment support (laptops, WiFi, etc.).

The goal of the program is to get you the relief you need as quickly as we can. Students needing emergency financial assistance should email One Stop and use the subject line “COVID-19 Emergency Fund Request.”

Remember to check the University COVID site and the Grad School FAQ site periodically. The Graduate School is posting information there in order to keep the email traffic to a minimum. If you have questions or concerns not answered by these sites, please don't hesitate to let the Graduate School know.

The ITF program matches a half-time Graduate Assistant dedicated to supporting instructors as they use technology in their teaching. The ITF will provide technical support and guidance on the use of the suite of learning tools supported by the University (e.g. Canvas, Google Suite). The ITF also provides support by researching new technologies and supports central DEI initiatives such as the Treks professional development workshops for faculty offered twice during summer.
