2019 Kinesiology Research Day - SAVE the day

Friday, April 26th, 11 AM to 3 PM
Location: Cooke Hall Rm 206 and 215

We are excited to announce the 4th Annual Kinesiology Research Day.

This event is open to faculty members, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students that are affiliated with the School of Kinesiology. Our goal for this event is to simulate a research conference atmosphere, thereby allowing various members from the School of Kinesiology to interact in an interdisciplinary forum, exchange ideas, and present their achievements.

Potential areas of research include:

  • Exercise Physiology
  • Biomechanics and Neuromotor Control
  • Perceptual Motor Control and Learning
  • Physical Activity and Sports Science
  • Sports Psychology
  • Sport Sociology
  • Sports Management
  • Recreation, Park, and Leisure Studies
  • Applied Kinesiology

Presentations may address original, empirical research, theoretical or conceptual topics, reviews of literature, or professional practice. Applicants may choose to submit material via two modes: Research Briefs, or Research Posters. Additionally, this year we are inviting each lab affiliated with the School of Kinesiology to submit a poster highlighting goals and ongoing work within the lab.

Research Briefs

Individual 5 - 7-minute presentations by faculty members, staff, graduate students, or undergraduate students on either written or proposed academic work. Presenters may indicate a request for more time during the submission process; however, we cannot guarantee we can meet this request, as it is dependent on the number of submissions we receive. Presentations can be empirical or theoretical and can follow virtually any format the author chooses.

Research Posters

Individual or co-authored academic posters by faculty members, staff, graduate students, or undergraduate students on either written or proposed academic work will be hung during the Research Day. Upon acceptance, each poster will be given a location to be hung during research day. Over the lunch hour, participants are encouraged to explore and engage with poster presenters. Presenters will be given a surface area of approximately 48 inches high and 96 inches wide to hang their poster; thus, please plan accordingly, so each presenter has ample space. If your poster is accepted, you can have it printed by submitting a PDF or PPT version of your poster to [email protected]

Lab Posters

Lab posters should outline the missions/goals of the lab, discuss recent accomplishments within the lab, and exciting/upcoming projects. Furthermore, discuss if there are undergraduate opportunities to become affiliated with the lab and steps that should be taken to do so. Lab posters will be given a surface area of approximately 48 inches high and 96 inches wide to hang their poster; thus, please plan accordingly, so each presenter has ample space. You can have your poster printed by submitting a PDF or PPT version of your poster to [email protected].
